Solar park drone filming
From rooftop installation to solar park, captured from the air
Drone filming for solar panels and solar parks
A solar installation can only really be seen from the air. Whether it's panels on the roof of a distribution centre or a solar park covering dozens of hectares, an aerial shot shows the size, the quality of the work and the location at a glance. Drone Chiefs makes aerial photos and drone videos for installers, project developers, energy cooperatives and solar park owners.
What we capture
Aerial footage of solar energy projects is used for marketing, reporting and documentation.
• Handover photos and videos of rooftop installations
• Reference footage for installers' websites and quotes
• Construction progress of solar parks, from groundwork to handover
• Videos for energy cooperatives, investors and local residents
• Overview footage for insurers and site managers
Flying safely over rooftops and parks
Solar panels are often on commercial rooftops in built-up areas, or in rural areas near nature and infrastructure. For every location we check the flight zones in LVNL's GoDrone app and the rules for flying near people and buildings. Where needed we fly in the Specific category, under our own Operational Authorisation from the Dutch Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT), and arrange permission from the site owner.
We deliver footage for marketing, handover and documentation. Technical inspections with a thermal camera are not part of our services.

Frequently asked questions about solar drone filming
Who is this footage for?
For installers who want to show their work, developers and owners of solar parks, and energy cooperatives that want to keep their members informed.
Can you film a solar park at regular intervals?
Yes. We set fixed shoot moments during construction, from the same positions, so progress is easy to compare.
What is the best time to film?
Panels and surroundings look best under a clear sky. We plan the shoot based on the weather forecast and take sun reflections on the panels into account.
Get in touch for a no-obligation quote
Feel free to get in touch for a no-obligation quote for aerial filming, FPV footage or a full video production.
Include the location of your project with your request. That way we can check straight away which airspace it falls in and whether extra permits or flight preparation are needed. Based on that we give you a clear quote. Productions start from €750.
It also helps to briefly describe the project and whether you only need aerial footage or a complete production including editing. Think corporate films, commercials, FPV footage or social media content.
That way we can think along quickly and send you a quote that fits your plans and your production.
