Regulations, safety and certification
Drone regulations are complex and change regularly, such as the new zones around Schiphol. As a client, you do not need to worry about that: it is our responsibility. Drone Chiefs flies in the Specific category with an operational authorisation from the Dutch ILT, based on European EASA rules. That is the highest licence category for commercial drones in Europe. For every job we prepare the flight and a risk assessment, arrange permission from LVNL or the airport and inform the surroundings where needed. That way we can handle most special locations and take care of everything for you.

From photography to film and FPV
Drone Chiefs is your one-stop shop for aerial filming. Crisp aerial photos, cinematic footage with the DJI Inspire 3 or a dynamic FPV tour through a building: it all comes from one team.
And we go beyond the drone. We also produce complete corporate videos: from concept and shoot day to interviews, editing and colour grading. One point of contact, one team, one clear schedule.
View our portfolioFrequently asked questions about aerial filming
How much does aerial filming cost?
Aerial filming starts from €750, including a certified pilot and equipment. Flight preparation is charged separately. The final price depends on the location, permissions, crew and whether you want editing. You always receive a quote in advance.
Can a drone fly anywhere?
No. Extra rules apply near airports (control zones), close to people and in the dark. With our Specific-category authorisation and the right permissions, we can fly in many of those places. We check every location in advance.
How far ahead should I book?
At a regular location we can often fly at short notice. A control zone or filming outside daylight hours requires permission. How long that takes depends on how complex the location is: a business park at the edge of a control zone is arranged faster than a flight right next to Schiphol. Allow a few working days to a few weeks.
Do you also edit the video?
Yes. You can get the raw footage, but we also produce the complete video: from concept and script to editing, colour grading and music.
More questions about aerial filming
Can you fly indoors?
Yes, in two ways. With small cinewhoops and FPV drones we create dynamic tours through offices, factories, showrooms and event venues, also with extras on camera. For calm, slow crane shots indoors we fly DJI drones.
Are you insured?
Yes. Drone Chiefs is insured for professional drone operations.
Do you fly outside the Netherlands?
Yes. We have filmed across Europe and beyond, including Curaçao, South Africa and the United States.
The right tools for every production
Every production calls for a different combination of drones, pilots and expertise. For quick, discreet shots we use the DJI Mavic 4 Pro. For film, TV and commercials we fly the DJI Inspire 3 with its full-frame 8K camera and interchangeable lenses, with a dedicated camera operator if needed. And for dynamic shots indoors or close to people we use a cinewhoop with a GoPro 13.
