Drone filming and photography of yachts and boats
You sell a yacht on feeling: the lines of the hull, the wake behind the transom, the light on the water. That is best captured from the air. Drone Chiefs specialises in aerial filming, video and photography of yachts, tenders and superyachts, for shipyards, brands, brokers and owners. At least once a month we are at the Oceanco shipyard to film on behalf of Cinewise. That footage is made for the yacht owners, so we don't share it. What we can show: our work for Zeelander and Cooper, and the Princess Yachts exhibition we filmed on the Grote Vijver lake at Efteling. We fly in the Specific category under our own Operational Authorisation from the Dutch ILT (NLD-OAT-041-05G), including in ports, on open water and at night. Discretion goes without saying: much of our work is for private owners.

Frequently asked questions about yacht filming
Do you fly from a boat?
Yes. Depending on the project we take off and land from a chase boat, from the yacht itself or from the shore. We choose the drone that suits the shot and the conditions on the water.
Can you also film inside a yacht?
Yes. With small FPV drones we fly smoothly from the deck into the saloon and through the interior.
Are you allowed to fly in a marina or at a shipyard?
Usually permission is needed from the marina, the shipyard or the landowner, and sometimes from air traffic control. We arrange that. At the yard we follow the safety rules and work in consultation with the safety officer.
